My ER experience was a 3 but I will not let that affect EVERYTHING else that happened after . On October 5th 2024 I went in for my triglycerides because they were high. So bad that I'm still currently in the hospital Oct 18th 2024 . So far ALL the nurses have been great but out of my 2 weeks here 4 RN's have stand out the most Chabela 1st shift and Sal 2nd shift both in 2nd floor a step down from the ICU, Melissa (and her student Ari) and Heather 1st shift from 3rd floor east these 4 ladies stand out the most because not only are they professional and are on top of things BUT also caring like genuinely caring constantly asking if I need anything and are quick with things if you do need something. you can feel the compassion they have at least for my experience. April 12th 2025 I came to the Merriam hospital I got put into a Waiting room after I got out the ER to room 55 1st floor where my RN at that time was Tammy she was a sweetheart very funny she sould what every RN need to inspire to be. After that I got sent to the step down on the second floor which is a step down under the ICU. Yeah I got to make Kendra and Gloria both wonderful. Kendra got me everything I needed though I was only with her for a couple hours she made me feel great almost forgot why you even there in the first place , Sunday night I got to meet Alyssa she is a young RN which normally people will freak out if you have somebody that young in that position but in this case I felt very good because she was very knowledgeable and in control. Sunday morning I got to meet Natalia she got me everything I needed , she can relate with you hold a conversation with you if you need it .I would ring the nurse bell and she would be there almost instantly. Specially with Alicia when you're in pain she'll be quick with your pain meds at least that's how it was for my experience. Monday morning till 7AM I had Sara was quick with things she almost knew every time I was feeling in pain and will have the pain meds ready for me, obviously after following her procedures. Monday they shift I had Madison she was pretty lean back and cool she also held me with my pain meds and even cleaned my room something you typically don't see RN's do but a CNA would do I COMPLETELY recommend this hospital for anyone who is having any doubts about coming here . Everyone is professional here and remember to treat everyone with respect it really does come a long way. Stay Blessed June 19 2025 I went in because of pancreatitis . I was there for 1 week on 2nd shift my RN was Celesha She had a great attitude and was really knowledgeable and helped me with everything I needed, on 1st shift I had 2 different RNs Melissa and Monique both were great were on top of my pain medicine which I really appreciate because I was really hurting. Easy going great attitude. Over all I wouldn't want to go to another hospital besides the Miriam .

My wife was brought here at 10 am. Emergency admittance by ambulance. After initial check-ins by student interns, the doctor ordered tests, IV drip. There was no other contact with the doctor. At 7 pm, I was still waiting in the waiting area while all the other patients were gone. This is not a doctor or staffing problem. This hospital is understaffed and systems are broken and dysfunctional. Can't find the doctor, can't get ahold of the doctor.. were the common reasons given. If there is better throughput of patients, while prioritizing by care of urgency, I'm sure this hospital can do better by their patients. The patient is already not feeling well. The dysfunctional systems of the hospital exhaust the patient's level of sickness. No food, no care. Just sit in a chair. Then when the bill comes through, you really see how the system just doesn't care about serving those who really need Mariam Hospital. Just a sad state of affairs.
This hospital was amazing. I had spinal decompression surgery and fusion done here. The entire staff was compassionate, Friendly, and on top of my care. The best experience I have ever had, while staying in patient.
I am posting this review and will probably post more throughout my mom‘s stay. I live in Texas and my mom got admitted this morning and I’ve literally called the emergency room front desk at least 15 times this morning . Samantha at the ER desk is incredible! She has been so patient every time I’ve called and to the point when I call she just says Hello Janice. When you are that far away from someone you love and they are in the hospital. There is no replacement for someone being so kind and understanding. Amanda, the ER nurse was also awesome when I talked to her. Thank you, Samantha! You are a true angel
I gave it 3 stars because the hospital itself is wonderful. The Emergency Room is AWFUL! I had to take my husband there for severe nerve pain in his leg. I dropped him off at the entrance thinking someone would come with a wheelchair. He walked in and almost fell before they got him one! Then you walk in and have to "wait to be called". So you can't sit or you will lose your place in line. I was told I needed a visitor badge so I went to the window. I couldn't here the man inside at all. Once we got in the room, things were ok until the shift change and new nurses come in. When it was time for an MRI, the nurse comes in and says that we are next in line. Over an hour goes by and still no MRI. I went out to the nurses and asked what was going on because he still had not been taken. Both nurses gave me dirty looks, asked my husband's name and said they would get the nurse. Mind you, I continue to watch them all from where I was seated in our room. Nurse shows up about 15 minutes later and says it time for the MRI. After the MRI, the doctors don't have any real answers other than his arthritis. At the time of discharge, we were told that he would get a doctors note. It waa not in the paperwork when we left. Upon leaving, the nurse said that she would take him to the front while I went and got the car. When I came up to pick him up, he was outside with no coat (because it was decent when we came in so he was wearing a sweatshirt). By the time we got out, it was 7:00 pm! It was 37°!!!!! And there was my poor husband still in excruciating pain trying to stand up against the wall with pajama pants and a sweatshirt. Sorry this is so long but my point is, if you need to go to an ER...don't go to this one! Do yourself a favor. We were there 9 hours and treated like crap!
