Katy-Fulshear Internal Medicine: Dr. Sarwat Makkani

Dr. Makkani is an outstanding Internal Medicine physician. They are incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and attentive to every detail. During my visit, I never felt rushed! Dr. Makkani carefully reviewed my medical history, asked thoughtful questions, and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. What truly sets them apart is her ability to look at the whole picture. Instead of just treating symptoms, they focus on long-term health and prevention. I left the appointment feeling confident, reassured, and genuinely cared for. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a primary care physician who combines expertise with compassion.

Dr. Makkani is truly an exceptional physician. From the moment you walk in, you feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for. I was initially very excited about my first visit with Dr. Makanni. She was very kind and caring, which made a positive first impression. Unfortunately, my experience during subsequent appointments became increasingly challenging. On multiple occasions, I waited at least 30 minutes to be seen, and during my most recent visit, the wait was approximately 45 minutes. This was particularly difficult as I needed to return to work. While I understand that delays can happen, the repeated long wait times have been frustrating. There was also an instance when I was informed that I owed money for a consultation that I had already paid for. Although I provided receipts and proof of payment, I still had to wait an extended period of time before the issue was addressed. That experience was discouraging. At one follow-up visit, I was surprised to learn that I would be seen by a student instead of Dr. Makanni. While I respect the importance of training future providers, I was not informed ahead of time and felt uncertain about the change in my care. During my most recent appointment, after waiting 45 minutes, I spoke with a nurse, another staff member, and then a student. It felt difficult to reach someone clearly in charge of my care. When I was finally seen, I asked about the possibility of checking my hormone levels, as I have ongoing concerns. I also mentioned a friend’s treatment experience as context. In response, I was asked what I had been “Googling” and was told that if my friend’s treatment was going well, I should see that doctor instead. I found this response dismissive and unprofessional. I left feeling upset and unheard. I value respectful, collaborative communication with my healthcare providers. At this point, I feel disappointed and concerned about the level of care and professionalism I have experienced. I hope this feedback can be taken seriously and used to improve communication and patient experience moving forward.

Dr. Makkani is the absolute best. She’s so efficient, understanding and thorough. She’s also so very respectful of her patient’s time. On top of that, her staff is also very responsive and always on top of everything. I can’t say enough great things about how respectful, private, and professional her team has always been. I work in the medical field and I know how difficult it can be. Some way or another, they have always been the best. I appreciate this care team so very much and I’m grateful to have found them. I’ve never met a greater one. Thank you to Dr. Makkani and her amazing team.

Medicine has changed a lot recently and it’s not that easy to find a good doctor. I had to go through a couple doctors till I found Dr. Makkani. She takes time to ask all the questions to listen all your needs, and she’s very knowledgeable and knows how to take the right decision for her patients. Honestly , she is a type of doctor that cares about you and you can trust her.
