As a recent resident of Tucson for the past 6 months, I thought it would be special for me to book services with a day pass at Canyon Ranch AZ on my birthday December 22nd. The entire staff that I dealt with was amiable and courteous and very attentive. My focal point of the day was my first choice service that got me to go the Canyon Ranch in the first place..."The Sanctuary of Sound and Watsu" (an aquatic massage). Being a massage therapist myself, I had never had the experience of receiving or giving this type of massage, so I knew that this treatment was going to be very special. I need to commend and applaud my massage therapist and my sound therapist Melodee and Audrey, for putting together such an innovative and creative treatment by incorporating both a water massage (which has healing qualities) and live musical instruments (sound frequencies that promotes calmness and relaxation on an ethereal level) tapping into the energy, sound frequencies and vibrational qualities of water and sound that the 3 of us experienced in that room, collectively. The treatment I received was such a unique experience for me...beautiful and profound with fluidity and grace. I felt safe, highly supported and nurtured, and so meaningful for me on so many levels...physically/emotionally/spiritually. What a beautiful healing moment it was to receive this on such a special day. It opened me up to allow clarity and focus in! I felt honored and grateful to have such two special and beautiful souls, Melodee and Audrey, partake with me on my healing journey. Thank you both so very much for your caring and kindness. I will most definitely be back. These two therapists deserve 5 stars - outstanding!!!

We truly wanted to love Canyon Ranch. After visiting numerous five-star resorts — including Miraval — I was genuinely excited to experience the esteemed Canyon Ranch Tucson. Unfortunately, from the moment we booked, the experience was riddled with errors. We encountered issues with check-in, unexpected schedule changes, incorrect departure times, long restaurant wait times, and even a disappointing massage experience (the therapist’s noticeably unshaven arms made what should have been a relaxing treatment uncomfortable). The final frustration came with a billing error. When we attempted to discuss it, our concerns were not acknowledged — we were simply told, again, that the charge would be corrected (which only happened after our third request). There was no ownership, no apology, and no recognition of the broader experience. At approximately $6,400 for two people for a two-night “all-inclusive spa” stay, we expected seamless service and thoughtful hospitality. Sadly, that was not our experience. Based on our visit, we would strongly encourage others to carefully consider alternative resorts.
I just came back from Canyon Ranch with my Daughters, we celebrated her 40th . The experience was amazing, I have wanted to visit the spa when my now 40yr was around 9yrs so this trip was along time coming. We had a wonderful time, it left me feeling and wanting to experience this everyday for the rest of my life. Thank you Canyon Ranch Tuscan
Well let’s start with most staff are wonderful and very accommodating! Especially to Kelly, who was incredibly genuine. The grounds are very enjoyable with excellent landscaping. That is where the compliments end I’m afraid, take the rest as you will, ultimately I would never recommend or return. The flagship pools is sad and outdated, as are the other two pool, motel vibes from the 1960s. We ate a variety of drab food for lunch, and dry stale dessert. Great lattes, though unfortunate there was only drip coffee available during the day otherwise. Everyone in my party became ill after eating lunch, which ruined the rest of the day. The spa was small and crowded in the afternoon. Amenity qualities were generally good but the steam room had a musty moldy odor. On a final note, some random elderly blonde woman rudely told us we were not welcome in the pilates room, per manager? Despite this, she was using a reformer and did not dress or behave appropriately compared to all the other great staff…
Mother, daughter, daughter trip. We had a wonderful time together. The resort itself felt slightly… off from the start. Check in was strangely defensive, as if the large number of departures that day was a surprise event. Our room rug had clearly lived a full life. The spa and locker rooms are dated and crowded, with shower curtains and products that feel closer to roadside hotel than luxury wellness retreat. The food was consistently underwhelming, which is impressive given how many opportunities there were to get it right. Our server Ethan was fantastic and did his best to inject warmth and enthusiasm into every meal. Booking activities requires constant app refreshing since there is no waitlist or alert system. Very calming. Pools are basic with no service. Bingo night features free bulk snacks and an energy that feels less “curated experience” and more “community center.” There are bright spots. The landscaping is beautiful. Outdoor activity staff are knowledgeable and engaging. Spa treatments themselves were good. But at roughly $5,000 per person for four nights, this felt wildly overpriced for what you receive. We made great memories together. We would not return.
