Blue Care Network of Michigan (BCN)

If I could give this health insurance company zero stars I would. I had a preapproved Surgery on October 9, 2025 and they still have not made a decision on whether to pay it out. After the surgery I will have met my deductible but since they are playing games we continue to pay the outrageous premium because our employers do not offer insurance and I am paying for medical services. I received a call on Monday night from the company and the girl barely left a message, I called the call center back, which usually amounts to frustration and tears, still no answer. About to call the governing body here in Michigan that regulates health insurance to have them deal with this nonsense. I won't get into them canceling our policy two days before my surgery and not notifying us. We only discovered this when we went to pick up my meds from surgery. They ultimately reinstated our policy after they realized they had messed up. If you have the option to choose a health insurance company, avoid Blue Care Network. They are downright terrible.

30 visits for combined speech and occupational therapy for a whole year with autism benefit covered. My child needs approximately 208 combined visits for a year. Tried to contact management but I've been on hold for over 30 minutes and talked to what I assumed what a robot. The amount you pay for coverage plus primary doctor charge to approve every special visit just to be restricted to 30 is unbelievable. Switching coverage that is more suitable for our family's needs.

Your plan will deny every thing. Yes, your plan shows 60 PT visits a year. But everyone is given 6 visits and then assessed-- if you get worse, they deny more visits. If you stay the same, they deny more visits because you are not improving. If you get better, they deny more visits because you are now better. Or they may allow one more visit once a month after the first six, but they only notify you after one or two months of waiting for an approval. And the approval is retroactive to the time that you were waiting. You can appeal, which I did and used a case manager and when up the chain of command. Then they then allowed 12 more visits but I had to get them done within 4 weeks. Not possible to schedule. So still did not get anywhere near 60 visits that are in the plan. My PT says that this is the cycle with every single BCN patient. Expect only 6 visits. Then fight for more.

The worse service any company the uses them I’ve been on hold for 1:10 minutes an counting just because they decided to change my pcp an I have a doctors appt coming in 11 days an I get a phone call telling I have to put in my dr that I have had for the last 2 years with this same coverage for the past 2 years dealing with the same bull crap when are these companies going to handle us with better service that we got to work everyday an work hard for the money we have to pay to get disgusting service an impatient employees who treat us like it’s not our money who pay them. I wish I lived in a place where I can do it all myself an don’t need to seek help. I hate our medical system period a waste of my money. For my hold to be so long I feel like yall are not just messing up with me but probably 100000000 more people

Your polices and setup of the website is deliberately designed to limit our access to medical / prescription care. BCBSBCN told us to go to your preferred pharmacy. BCBSBCN told us that our treatment is authorized. Now when I use the reimbursement form it says I am not eligible. When I try to call it says your call center is closed. When I try to send a message it says I am not even eligible to send a message under this plan. What hope is there for your subscribers and why are you deliberately making it so difficult despite prior authorizations and empty instructions from your staff?
